If you look at the pic of the 109 you can see that it is leaf sprung which i like and judging by the six wheel studs I suspect Jap axels though I would try and stick with sailsburys if I could find a front or perhaps modify a rear to take series swivels. I do believe that it is indeed a 6BT which again interest me but at 5.9 lts perhape a bit too much.

I don't have any more pics of the 2B, I seem to have lost many things with moving house a few times. The body on the back was very sturdy and never seemed to flex even off-road the doors would always open and shut no problem. It was low miles and ran spot on plus no rust anywhere. I even ran it on a daily basis for a while movies, shops and out too the pub.
When we went to trials mates would chuck there spares and wheels etc in the back ( I anit got room can I just stick a few bit in yours) and then set of in their v8 powered tow motors and I would be at the back of the convoy struggling to keep up, you know what it's like at the back of a convoy !! but it did pull well if not fast I never needed low box on the road.
I can't imagine what happened to it but would of made a great camper.

and yes it is a KV6.

There is a chap on the forums who built a IIA FC with a non turbo 6B, he used engine and box from a Roadrunner, and converted the FC transfer box to a remote setup with an overdrive gear ratio (worked out about 0.7 or 0.8:1) which is quite a smart motor. If you look on YouTube for LeFrog you'll find it.

He promised me a drive in it when it was finished (2 and a bit years now) but I'm yet to find the time to go visit. However, that, and speaking to a guy who put a 6BT in a 90 (wagon engine and box close coupled to an LT230) makes me think its a pretty workable setup with some decent front springs.
Axle wise the FC has some ENV's from a IIB, and the 90 was running standard rover items, although he might well have thrown some more money at it by now.

I like the look of your current build, certainly innovative, and I'm guessing built to meet all the ARC rules, but be as light/strong and well balanced as possible.
The chassis looks like a fresh fabrication?
What gearbox are you using, and what engine management?

Le Frog looks good but i think I would go with a 109 and did think of using a lt95 with a short 1st motion shaft and moving the engine back like a six cyl to keep the 2a front.

Yes the chassis is scratch built. the gearbx is a diesel Freelander item which is quite high geared as some of the reduction is done in the IRD. I have had an output shaft made too convert it to LT230 output flanges and there isn't a diff in a freelander box so all sorted plus I can pick it up with one hand so nice and light.
As to engine management it will be on throttle bodies but not sure on ecu as yet.
