Hello from up North

Postby Doc » Sat Apr 04, 2015 7:58 am

Hi there

New to the forum and fairly new to Land Rover ownership. I don't own a one ton, but I am rebuilding my old 109. It's not going to be one for the rivet counters as I want it to suit my needs and tastes. I thought I would share the rebuild with you chaps as I think a few of you will like it.

The basic brief is for something practical for today's roads, to be as to work the farm, pull a trailer and do the odd gentle green lane trip.

Highlights are a the original chassis rebuilt to one ton spec, original period looking exterior and interior, fuel injected 4 litre V8 with some mild mods, Santana LT85 5 speed box, salisbury axles, Ashcroft part time 4wd/2wd transfer box, P38 power steering and Wild Industries disc brake conversion, topped off with 900x16 wheel and tyre combo.

My question is, in which section could I pop a build thread as its not a real 1 ton? :?

Here's a taster....

It surely does. Rover V8?

The One Ton section is fine to share your project, or 'Interesting Vehicles' if you should so desire.

Thanks guys. I will get some photos sorted tonight and start a thread next week. There is some catching up as I'm almost two years into the project. It's been some journey. I'm hoping that I'm only 2-3 months off completion. 8-)
