Well as its summer now and we are all spending our time enjoying long hot dry days I decided to get some painting done. Unfortunately I did not get far as the weather seems to have closed in on me. But here is a picture of what I have done so far. I have used semi-gloss polyurethane quick drying paint. That I got from Blackcountry paints. I used a standard RAL colour so I hope it will be easy to match if I run out. I gave the panels a bath, then a quick rub down with some fine wet/dry and then another bath. I did not bother with filler and all that lark, I mean it’s a landrover!.
First coat was put on quite thick with an expensive- ish (£6) soft roller that said it would not drop any fur. Then I left it for 24h ant dis a second coat (I had soaked the roller in white sprit overnight to try and get my money’s worth out of it, unfortunately this made the next coat very thin.) another 24 hours and then I did a top coat with a gloss roller that was cheap enough to throw away once I had finished.
The finish is really good on the flat panels, and not too bad over the dents, I had to fill in some edges with a brush, but I splashed out on a Harris one and that seems to have worked. The paint is meant to go over the top of the old paint, so I did not want to take too much off, unfortunately there were a couple of edges the lifted off and needed to be re sanded.
I’m thinking I might invest in an electric/ air sander before I take on the next bits, ant I may/ may not spray the bits like doors that will come off, although where the panels a flat you would be hard pushed to tell if the paint was rollered or sprayed. Will update with some better photos once we have some more dry weather……. So about 2025 then

How is that even possible 
Any way by this point I gave up , pulled off what I could and rollered over the rest, its only the roof, almost no one will ever see it.
