Are both winches PTO do you think
Re: what would Q106AFG boil down to...
As I understand, the front is PTO, the rear is manual. But as it appears it may be coming my way afterall, so I'll keep you posted.

so there we have it. Wanted a recovery truck ever since I was a 4 year old

serious crane in the back

and similarly serious whinch up front

which is probably a standard military piece of equipment as the truck turns out to be a standard 12 V IIa. truck general service 3/4 ton w. winch.
I guess in the end I will not be needing the crane. But I do have a thing for the winch however I have no truck to fit it to

the chassis turns out to be rotten on the lower side of the rails over the full length, the rear crossmember non-exisiting and most of the outriggers crunchy, so not a lot or real hope there. Combined with dents in all the panels... I don't think this one will make it in the end.
But I like the way it is sitting there right now.

Does the contract plate actually describe it as a truck w/winch? If so that is incredibly rare!

And I really have no reason to believe otherwise as the winch itself is partly covered in olive drab.
Is there a good online reference for numbers build on military verhicles? Looking in the netherlands I am finding it hard to find clean and well kept 109GS anyway. Up till a couple of years ago there appeared to be hundreds around. But they were obviously faded out allmost all in a short period of time. Snapped up for grabs and abused according to the low price they made.
Well, lets not call my recovery truck well kept now. I guess, just "kept" will do nicely
But they appear to be getting rarer anyway.

BTW would the rediculously heavy bumber have been part of the package

must be 4mm thick, there is a reason the wings are shot but the bumper is straight
its heavy and it worked!

Meanwhile I do believe the little truck deserves a second chance. Looking for 2200 euro's (1850 GBP) for it to go in one piece.
Found this to complete the project. Free to the man that gives the truck a good home. Looking at the bay that saves you about 300 pounds
