I have 5 of these six stud rims. I could do with some 6.5 inch rims for the tacr and was considering two options.
1 - sell the 101 rims to fund a set of 204s or similar.
2 - drill the rivets out and weld in 5 stud centres.
Opinions on these crazy ideas welcome.

Re: 101 rims
Wont you have all sorts of alignment/balance problems if you try to change the centres
Re: 101 rims
I thought cutting the centre out and replacing it was known as "banding" and is illegal?

Re: 101 rims
Banding is cutting a rim in half an welding a piece of 'tube' in the middle to make it wider.
What you're thinking of is possible, although given the comparative rarity of 101 rims, I'd sell them and find something else to put a set of 5 stud centres in, be it a set of Disco steelies or perhaps some 8 spokes.
You can often find people giving the Disco ones away...

Re: 101 rims
Stab in the dark: would 101 hubs/drum fit on a series stub axle?
Re: 101 rims
