ENV Rear Axle

Postby JohnOShea » Thu Feb 11, 2021 12:44 pm

Hi all,

Before I ask the wider Land Rover collective I thought I’d ask you all who know more about 1-ton components.

How much driveshaft play is acceptable for a Rear ENV diff? I can turn it by hand a few degrees each way before the wheels turn. (When I get a chance I’ll measure the exact amount of degrees) Everyone has always told me they’re indestructible and I’m fairly certain this one hasn’t been abused so I just wanted to check if it’s normal.

Cheers,

Johnny

Hello Johnny,
'a few degrees' is about normal as there will be some movement in the splines at the drive flanges.
