I found a supplier for 1100/16, serious tractor style front tyres. as well as 9.00x16's I'm waiting for a quote from them.
Lets see. The problem with the Maxxis is they are too wide, this I'm sure is going to affect steering.

Though stamped '9.00 X 16', XCLs 255/100 are illegal here in France on a one-ton (I failed the MOT because of them) and, anyway, rub on the edge of the wing, so I sold mine for a song (they were less than 5,000 km !) and changed for 255/85 ones which are very close as you say. I assume XCLs would fit a FC without problem.

Here in France there is a dealer who offers true 9.00 X 16 Michelins, both new and slightly used - though 'new' are actually NOS (5 to 7 years old) which is not usually recommended; They are not cheap, but if someone wants the link to the website...

I've just checked. ZAR5694 + 14%VAT each. That's GBP340 + 14%. F' me sideways, near as makes no difference, GBP400 a corner, GBP2000 for the set?! Christ on a bike...
