Window Slide Channel

Postby JPC » Mon Mar 02, 2015 3:21 pm

Hi All.
Could someone here please find me the contact details of the manufacturer/extruder of this channelling.

H=12.6mm
W=12.6mm
Material thickness=1.2mm

My son should be visiting the UK soon and I hope he can then collect some lengths for me.

This item is unobtanium in ZA.

Thanks
JP

I think the UK stuff is slightly different, but readily available. Is this what you're after?

I have got plastic stuff in my rocky mountain window and that seems much better, i don't know where you get it from though :( Is it some thing to do with the series II club or series III club?

Das, the OEM lookalike stuff is available here, but it doesn't last, max 5 years, and I'm getting tired of redoing them, "them" being 3 sets of front door windows, 2 behind cab and 2 for a station wagon.

Wildebees, do you have more info on the plastic channels?

The channeling in the pic is from a Defender front door, I need lots. :)

Thanks Wildebees.

I'm going for 1/2" x 1/2" PVC, OD. I see on UK and USA sites that it is a common size. Everything here is metric, except old Land Rovers. :lol:

Today I measured up the window channel requirements to refurbish all my Series sliding windows.....44m! and that is excluding the IIIS. (haven't yet decided on what configuration it will be, but I think its time for a soft top)

I'll have to find a local supplier.....

I now have a slight dilemma, maybe a member here can help.

The pvc channel in the dimensions needed is not available here in SA, but some companies are willing to extrude but at exorbitant costs.

I have found a manufacturer in Ipswich that already has the tooling and can make a 500m run at gbp.50/meter and in black. That is a very reasonable price, but I only need 50m!

I am prepared to take on 250m and hope someone here could take the remaining 250m.

Any takers?
