Petlas nt3 or Michelin Xl

I really want to stick with 9.00 x 16 and Ive read both negative and positive remarks about petlas tyres, but mostly just positives about Michelin XL however looking at older forum threads it seems there pretty similar in price.

So for a bit of gentle green laning, but mainly Tarmac what would you choose?

Nout wrong with the petlas if you can get em cheap.
The Yellowsea Michelin copies work out about £200 each though, worth the spend if you can't get aanything else significantly cheaper.
255/85 R16 and 285/75r16 don't look out of place on a IIB either.

Thanks Das, problem is ain't they cheap anymore....seems they have close to double in the last five years or so, the going rate is around £180 a corner.

Would 6 ply be too light for a 2b, looking at axle weights it seems fine, but I wonder if the firmer ride of 8 ply would make much difference in reality?

There's more than a few running the metric sizes now, 255/85 works well enough.
'Tarndale' has a set on his IIA FC 'FAB'. A search of the forum should bring up some pictures. They seem to work well on it.
