Hello from Devon

Postby triumphantclassics » Tue Sep 27, 2016 9:17 pm

Hey!

I have just purchased a 1 ton and never had one before. Have looked at them for a while and loved the uniqueness they have. I have had mine for nearly a week now. Bought it from a chap who is also a fan of 1 tons and land rovers in general. He had 2 others and couldn't complete the one I have purchased. So 'Murv' as he's been named is a 1972 ex southern electric 1 ton. A few years ago it seems 'Murv' started to be broken. So things like the winch, gearbox, dash, heater matrix and wheels for instance have been removed. My plan is to restore 'Murv' he has already been in the workshop and after sourcing some parts he is up and running. The 2.6l engine runs as sweet as a nut so I'm very pleased! Luckily the former owner found another 1 ton gearbox which I have also reinstalled to the 1 ton. Yet to test but so far it seems all good! Anyway I hope to keep people posted as and when things develop. I will also upload pictures soon!

Cheers,

Matt
