Hello from Brittany

Postby francol » Sat Oct 22, 2016 4:37 pm

Hi all !
Though Corsican by birth (remember Napoleon  ?) I've been living in Brittany for seventeen years now. Won't tell my age, just say than I'm an OAP...For the past thirty years, I've owned Series 1, 2s, 3s, from 803 to 109, hard tops, soft tops, PU... (and also a Pinzgauer and an Iltis) And I just bought a One-ton :D

I would like to convert it from RHD to LHD (otherwise i'll travel alone, my wife said she would never travel again sitting on the left side without a wheel to control the motor) but One-ton LHD boxes seem as rare as a democratic Islamist...

I wonder if a IIB FC box would cope with 9.00 tyres ?

A IIB one would fit and do the job just fine, although the column is a few inches longer than the standard one.

A standard Series one will also fit and work fine, but will give slightly heavier steering.
