The One Ton Amphibious Land Rover?

Never heard of it being called anything but an OTAL. Weird bit of kit, basically an amphibious 1-Ton before there was such a thing, on a 97" wheelbase if I remember correctly. I don't know if it was a cut-down 109" or what. The "Milk float" amphib was also on a 97" wheelbase...

Sorry my fault i should elaborate ,i have several screen savers on my desk top .Mostly land rovers, my grandson loves what he calls the penguin after i explained to him that it has the ability to go in water and so forth.And he associated it with all things a penguin .much to my amusement.

It might have made the Batman villain of the same name a little more interesting if he drove one?

Dont say that Das you might give them idears,they would probably find more rare landy,s to ruin .Remember that crap stallone movie.

Whilst the movie itself was questionable, I rather liked the City Cabs.

The silver one looked a bit better but still lost its appeal to me .I wonder if the green oval sales benefited from it though.

There's a good possibility, I loved the thing the first time I saw the article I LRO 17 years back.

I'd love to get hold of a shell and build it up with a space frame to support it properly and allow more interior space (the 101 cab under the shell didn't really lend itself to decent ergonomics.
Wether one would keep the 101 chassis or go for a complete redesign of the chassis/frame is open to debate, but I'd be thinking if putting the engine in the back.

Would be ace for the Tesco run!!!
