Scammell Pioneer project

Great!

While we're on Scammells, a mate purchased a 1960s Scammell Contractor used by the Australian Army, unfortunately the previous owner sent the tropical roof, bonnet, radiator surroud, radiator and grill to the scrappers.

If anyone has a source for the parts another friend has a container coming out to Oz in the next couple of weeks. Let me know.

Does anyone know where to find the chassis number on a Contractor? We haven't been able to find it

been a bit since we updated the thread (and a lot of work has been done haha)

we managed to get the truck out n about last summer but the engine started to knock abit so we decided to remove the engine and either rebuild it or replace it (it worked out easier and more cost affective to replace it) whilst we was at the engine we have decided to replace the body work aswell.

not made much progress on the pioneer this year due to buying a explorer





i'm not happy with the front window so will be making a new panel (putting it back to original opening windows)

i ended up buying the explorer so i can show it whilst working on the pioneer.

What other reason do you need to buy an explorer?
The rebuild looks good though.
