The one-ton was shod with four near-new Michelin 255/100 when I bought it. I had to take them down as they are illegal here (though stamped "9.00 X 16", they are actually 10" high); With the same money, I bought five TOYO 255/85 "open country" tyres (at last, my spare is the same than the four other...

My one-ton is shod with 255/85 Toyo Open Country, they proved to be an excellent choice

Though stamped '9.00 X 16', XCLs 255/100 are illegal here in France on a one-ton (I failed the MOT because of them) and, anyway, rub on the edge of the wing, so I sold mine for a song (they were less than 5,000 km !) and changed for 255/85 ones which are very close as you say.
