1962.

If my theory and research is correct the serial number of yours should be between 315 & 890, as long as its the original pump. The only exception would be if its a Forward Control winch, which appear to have a separate numbering system.

Hi, the mk 1 winches usually have the serial number stamped around or on the 'Land Rover' badge. Sometimes, if they have been exposed to the elements they can be quite hard to see. Regards Rob

A couple of Aeropart Capstan Winches i've been working on. Not sure if to leave the base plate galved or get it powder coated black. Just a few little bits to finish.

A Fairey / Mayflower capstan winch is designed to fit both 2.25 & 2.6 engines. The design of the driveshaft on the Fairey allows a lot of scope for adjustment.
