ignoring the rights and wrongs, i think it's beautifal!! an absolute cracker! IIRC it was put together from odds and sods from here and there, as the builder collected the parts rather than broke up the original vehicles to combine them? is that correct wheeledbeast? i can't find my copy of the mag....

Not that im in a position to do anything about it just now, but Das do you have any 2.6 engine's looking for a new home? can you get parts easy enough to rebuild these engines if i came across a non runner for sale? cheers

fair points and i couldn't agreee more that a series motor should have a nice smooth petrol engine, and i must admit that most of the tdi's i have fitted have been in coil sprung land rovers. In my case, and im sure there are others out there it's the difference in bieng able to keep these classics ...

Maybe wouldn't go as far as saying it's my ideal engine, but what about the 2/300tdi? it's cheap, easily obtainable, reliable, o.k on fuel, easy to fit and of course it still carries the Land Rover badge! :212C: I think the point of the thread was regarding engines other than the tdi, as they are a...
