FC 109 S2A 1963

Postby bronzie66610 » Mon May 14, 2018 11:58 am

Hi all, I have 30100053B. It was sold to the SNOWY MOUNTAINS HYDRO SCHEME 26/2/1964 by Grnville Motors in Sydney Australia. It is the first 6 cyl. engine to be in a Land Rover in Australia. It is one of only 2 the Snowy Mountains Scheme had. The other one is unknown of its whereabouts. It was a special order of 10 vehicles which have ENV diffs.
I saved it from a rubbish tip 5 years ago and did not know at the time of its significance. We took it to COOMA in New South Wales for Land Rover 70 th. celebrations. After alot of preparation we started her up after 40 years of laying around. Although a valve was stuck open and clutch frozen to flywheel, we persevered to rectify clutch and drove her in the parade basically as found in suburban back yard in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia..
