I had this posed on the old board years ago but its gone so I thought I would put it up again.
I was working in PNG as a Stock Inspector and while posted in Bougainville in the 1970,s found this down the bottom end near Buin.'After some negotiation we towed it back to Kieta via Panguna.
Not some easy feat for the poor old diesel Station Wagon. But I was much younger and fitter back then.

We got held up a couple of times on the way home.
The last near Panguna as the road goes near the Bougainville Copper Mine site and they were hauling logs.

We got back to where we lived in Toniva near Kieta.

It was not long after this that my current contract expired and we chose to leave and ended up on the Sunshine Coast of Queensland Australia

Thanks.
I scanned them from slides years ago, some are better than others.
After buying a house block we set to work building.
The FC came in handy there as well.

It was Taz :D
Interesting times.

It was time to find a job, so I bought an old Mustang Skid steer loader with a backhoe attatchment and set about looking for work.
The old truck performed sterling service hauling it all around.

I built some pipe frames and made a poly cover and we used it for camping as well.
Here a trip to Fraser Island

It was around this time I swapped out the Rover 6 engine for a Mazda / Perkins 6-247 with Mazda 5 Spd box coupled to the T,box with a jackshaft and built a 5th wheel trailer to cart the machinery around on.
